The Industry Track Chair is responsible for overseeing the content and organization of the Industry Track. It entails: (A) defining the Industry Track Program and Scope (B) appointing the Industry Track Program Committee (C)working in close cooperation with the Technical Program Chair and other Organizing Committee members to ensure the technical relevance of the Industry Track to the overall scope of the conference (D) determining acceptance of abstracts submitted to the Industry Track (E) selecting papers based on the Committee’s review and recommendations (F) creating, assembling and categorizing Industry Sessions by topics (G) monitoring the paper review process to the Industry Track and (H) ensuring the onsite success of the Industry Track from a professional and technical point of view.
Student Volunteers assisting conference organizers play an important role in the organizational process of ICST sponsored conferences. Student volunteers are typically nominated and appointed by the Local Chair based on recommendations from the Organizing Committee members. Students interested in contributing to the organizational process as onsite volunteers can also submit a Student Registration Grant Application document.
The Web Chair is responsible for overseeing the establishment, maintenance and update of all conference related websites. The general duty of the Web Chair is to keep continuous contact with the Organizing Committee members in order to ensure that the official conference website is constantly updated and contains all the relevant conference related information (program, important dates, logistics, bios and pictures, welcome messages, etc.)
The Local Chair is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of the conference by providing visa invitation letters, volunteer arrangements as well as local logistical support. The general tasks and responsibilities of the local chair include (A) working closely with the ICST Conference Coordinator on venue related issues, (B) supporting the Technical Committee Chair regarding the printing of the Conference Brochure, (C) recruiting conference volunteers for the whole duration of the event.
The Session Chair is responsible for ensuring that the predetermined timing and scheduling of a session and thus the entire conference program remains intact and all logistical arrangements (audio-visual and technical equipment) required for the session are properly provided and are functional. The general tasks of the Session Chair include (A) introducing the presenters, (B) moderating the questions and answers session after individual presentations, and (C) providing a session report to the ICST Conference Coordinator.
The Registration Chair is primarily responsible for handling the onsite registration process at an ICST sponsored conference. The general tasks of the Registration Chair are (A) to administer the onsite digital, credit card and cash payments of conference participants (B) to ensure that only conference participants with duly paid registration fees are attending the conference sessions, meals and social events and (C) to ensure that registered conference participants receive all conference materials in due order (bags, badges, Conference Brochure, Conference Proceedings, etc.). The roles and responsibilities of the Registration Chair might be fulfilled by the Local Chair supported by a number of Student Volunteers.
The Tutorial Chair is responsible for ensuring that the program of the general conference is complemented with the widest array of technical Tutorials. During the organizational process, the Tutorial Chair has to work closely with the ICST Conference Coordinator and the Local Chair on the financial and logistical implications of the tutorials.
The Demo and Exhibit Chair is responsible for building a comprehensive Tutorials, Demos and Exhibits program that accompanies and supplements the academic and technical sessions of the conference and presents new innovations and practical industrial applications. During the organizational process, the Demo and Exhibit Chair has to work closely with the ICST Conference Coordinator and the Local Chair on the financial and logistical implications of the demos and exhibits.
The Panels Chair is responsible for ensuring that the individual presentations delivered during the technical program of the conference are balanced, with a series of high quality Panels and WIP Paper Sessions as interactive discussions.
The Sponsorship Chair is responsible for ensuring that the conference is endorsed and supported by the widest array of institutional and corporate partners and collaborators. In general, the sponsorship chair is responsible for actively identifying and approaching potential institutional and corporate partners interested in supporting the conference. The sponsorship chair must work closely with the ICST Sponsorship Department and solicit financial support according to the rules and regulations outlined in the Financial Sponsorship Opportunities at ICST Events document.
