The ICST Transactions are peer-reviewed research journals covering the latest specialist topics in ICT and related fields. Supported by a network of editorial boards drawn from leading experts in their field and equipped with innovative online tools, ICST Transactions are paving the way to the digital future of publication.

Benefits of the ICST Transactions

Fast online publication

  • Speedy, effective review with e-Scripts, ICST’s online submissions management system.
  • No waiting for the print schedule – your article gets published with full citation information as soon as the final is approved.
  • The use of UCount, guarantees you get professional reviewers.

Open Access

  • Open Access is a new publishing model where the electronic copy of the article is made freely available with permission for sharing and redistribution. All articles published in all journals in the ICST Transactions series are Open Access under the terms of the Creative Commons with Attribution license.
  • Submissions received before the 31st of March 2012 can be published via Open Access free of charge. ICST will work hard to keep its Open Access fees as low as possible in the future. At the moment, we envision a fee of €990 for up to 15 pages, plus €20 per page thereafter, for articles submitted after March 2012.
  • Open Access articles are known to enjoy a citation and dissemination advantage over other forms of research publication.
  • No longer is there a need to ask permission to reuse text or figures from your own publications!
  • Open Access does not require authors to transfer copyright to the publisher, thus it is compatible with the novel publication policies of universities such as Princeton forbidding copyright transfer (read more).

Indexing and beyond

  • ICST Transactions will be submitted for inclusion in all the major indexing services, including Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic Search, DBLP, Engineering Information, the ISI Science Citation Index, and others…
  • … but we do not stop at supporting the traditional indexing services. To increase attention and the probability of citation of your article in Web 2.0, ICST supports innovative web tools that enable researchers to better share, classify and disseminate articles via the many different social bookmarking and networking services. As an example of this, learn about UCount, a community-based approach for measuring scientific reputation.

We are keen to hear your feedback and experiences with this growing list of services, new tools and opportunities we are providing, and your thoughts and ideas for what additional features you would like to see incorporated. Please submit your feedback to contact, marking “Transactions Feedback” in the subject line.

We look forward to working with you to create a vibrant, open series of digital publications!
