SAT – Immersive Communications

Over the past decade, we have witnessed tremendous progress in the design and the implementation of communications networks driven by broadband and mobile technologies. This advancement provides the user with access and bandwidth to send and receive information anywhere and anytime. However, there has been less progress on how the user could share rich information utilizing the available networks. In this SAT we address the technologies that enable users from sharing experiences and information seamlessly and efficiently beyond voice, image, and video communications. We look at how to immerse the user and the surroundings into the digital world for optimal collaboration experience.
