SAT – Modeling and Analysis of E-Technologies

E-Technologies describes the hardware and software that are used for electronic commerce and to facilitate the organization of companies that operate in this arena.  The focus of this SAT is on both the design of the technologies and the problems and opportunities related to their implementations. It is interdisciplinary in nature in that it encompasses software engineering, Internet-related technologies, and implementational aspects of both.

Izabella Lokshina - Vice Chair

IZABELLA LOKSHINA, PhD is Associate Professor and Chair of Management, Marketing and Information Systems Department at SUNY Oneonta, USA. She has 25 years of experience, including 15 years in industry, consulting, and academia in Russia, and the 10 last years in industry and academia in the United States. Her positions include Senior Scientific Researcher at the Moscow Central Research Institute of Complex Automation; Project Expert at the Obninsk State Center of Information Research, Project Consultant at the Ministry of the Coal Industry in Moscow, and Associate Professor of Automated Control Systems at Moscow State Mining University. She received her doctorate in Computer Science from Moscow State Mining University, and an M.S. and B.S. in computer science from the Moscow Oil and Gas Institute. She is a member of Russian Academy of Information and a member of World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society. Her research interests are connected with Artificial Intelligence (Fuzzy Systems and Neural Networks), and Complex System Modeling.

Alex Bordetsky - Publications Chair

Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey

Dr. Alex Bordetsky is an Associate Professor of Information Systems at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey. He is Associate Chair for Research at the Department of Information Sciences. He is Director of NPS Center for Network Innovation and Experimentation (CENETIX) and Principal Investigator for the TNT (Tactical Network Topology Testbed) Project. Dr. Bordetsky is a recipient of prestigious Robert W. Hamming Interdisciplinary Research Award for his pioneering studies of collaborative technologies and adaptive network-centric environments. Professor Bordetsky publishes in major IT journals including Information Systems Research and Telecommunication Systems Modeling and Analysis.

Boris Peltsverger

Boris Peltsverger - Committee Chair

Dr. Boris Peltsverger is a Professor and the Dean of the School of Computer and Information Sciences at Georgia Southwestern State University, Americus, GA. He holds M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (1968) and Ph.D. (1974) and Doctor of Sciences (1990) degrees in Computational Science and Engineering from Chelyabinsk State Technical University, Russia. He was an Assistant Professor (1973-1976) and an Associate Professor (1976-1990) in the Department of Applied Mathematics, Chelyabinsk State Technical University. From 1990-1996 Dr. Peltsverger was a Chairman and a Professor, Department of Informatics, Chelyabinsk State Technical University. His research focuses on large-scale optimization problems applied to engineering, computer science and operations research.
