UAE Ministry of Interior and Ernst & Young to Sponsor ICDF2C

ICDF2C 2010, the second edition of the annual international ICST conference series, is a key event enabling information exchange and knowledge-sharing among academics, forensics experts and government officials on the most burning issues of Digital Forensics and Cyber Crime.

ICDF2C is being organized in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, the cosmopolitan metropolis of Abu Dhabi on 4-6 October 2010, and aspires to attract participants from around the world to discuss research findings and current practical challenges and solutions in the subfields of financial crimes: money laundering, fraud, identity theft; digital forensics training and education; forensics processes and procedures; the interconnectedness of digital forensics and law; cyber crime investigations; software piracy; cyber terrorism; criminal psychology and profiling, just to name a few.

The Ministry of Interior of the host country, the United Arab Emirates, recently decided to join the event as a Platinum Sponsor, contributing to the success of the event not only through financial measures, but also with a keynote address, further enriching the technical program of the event. Ernst & Young – as a Silver Sponsor of the conference – will display an exhibition booth with information materials and a permanent Ernst & Young representative onsite who will be available to answer questions.

ICDF2C will feature two keynote speakers: Dr. Eugene H. Spafford (Professor of Computer Sciences at Purdue University, Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security – CERIAS), and Dr. Marcus Rogers (Director of the Cyber Forensics Program in the Department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University).

Two tutorials will also contribute to the diverse structure of the event. Dr. Nasir Memon (Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Polytechnic Institute of New York University) will share his insight into Advances in Digital Image Forensics, while Bhadran V K (Resource Center for Cyber Forensics, India) will talk about Network Forensics.

ICDF2C 2010 is organized under the leadership of General Chair Dr. Ibrahim Baggili (College of Information Technology, Zayed University, UAE). To read an interview with Dr. Baggili in ICaST, ICST’s Online Global Community Magazine, please >> click here.
